Clemson is a university located in Clemson, South Carolina is in Pickens County. It was founded in 1889 and consists of only five schools. The university has over 17,000 students from every state and nearly 90 countries.

The city of Clemson is served by the system bus traffic areas of Clemson. Also is served by the Crescent line Amtrak crossing train station Clemson.

Clemson is known as its hilly campus.

Thomas Green Clemson IV, founder of the Clemson came to the foothills of the state. He left most of his property in his will to be used to establish a university who teach agriculture and mechanical arts. Clemson University wanted to be based on the Mississippi A & M is now Mississippi State University.

In 1889 Governor Richardson signed the bill establishing the Agricultural College, Clemson in South Carolina. Federal funding for agricultural education was transferred University of South Carolina at Clemson.

Clemson Agricultural College opened in 1893 with only 446 students. Clemson was an all-white military school male. Clemson remained so until 1955 when it changed to "marital status" for students and became a mixed institution. In 1963, Clemson admitted its first black student. In 1964, the college was renamed Clemson University.

Competing in the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference of NCAA Division I as Clemson Tigers. His most famous facilities on campus are: Memorial Stadium Doug Kingsmore Stadium, Littlejohn Coliseum, Historic Riggs Field, and Fike Recreation Center. Clemson has won 4 national championships, including football, 2 in the men's game, and the men's golf.

Clemson Greek system is somewhat different from other major universities in the southern United States where there are no Greek houses on campus. There are residences designated for fraternities and sororities, but no traditional Greek houses on the campus of Clemson.

Clemson's rich military history is very visible in the campus.

Despite Clemson, became a joint civilian institution in 1955, the university maintains a military presence still active. The university is the home to detachments of Army and Air Force ROTC as well as a host school for the Marines program PLC by the Semper Fi Society.

Students spend time off campus in downtown Clemson which is right where the university is. The center of Clemson, is located next to campus. The students on campus are within walking distance of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. Greenville is about 45 minutes and many students choose to travel there for the purpose week.

Writer and editor, Freddie Brister, is a former high school football coach of 25 years. His love of the game of football is reflected in his words and memories of growing up in the South and playing football in the back yard with his brother, cousins and neighborhood friends. His biggest thrill is watching former high school players he has coached play at the college level.
